Our 6th Plantsgiving was a Knockout!

So there we were, getting ready for our last supper club, when this HUGE bunch of flowers arrived at the door from my sweet parents.  I mean, how lucky can you be at 56 to get a bunch of flowers from your parents who remembered that you are marking the end of an era in your lives?  Well, pretty lucky, that’s what. Thank you, Mom & Dad!

But we couldn’t tarry.  Getting ready is serious business…

However, before we knew it, the house was filled with food…

And friends!

We filled up every room in the house and ran out of dishes–twice!  It was standing room only, well–Rosebud and I perched on the stairs.

We made merry…

Caught up with old friends…

Broke a few house rules (here is Cindy schooling some younguns about the re-districting petition).  In the interest of being nice we didn’t allow sales or petitions or lectures! but on the last night…well, this IS a bi-partisan issue…

Even the dishwashers had fun… thank you so much for your generous compensation.  It was a win-win

We will miss this event so much!  But we are excited for the future…  We will definitely see you in the summer for an impromptu gathering (I am already eyeing July 18 so pencil it in!).  Happy Holidays and a have a blessed, productive and healthy New Year everyone!  With love and gratitude, Sue & Roger

P.S. Here are the Plantsgiving 2017 Recipes that I gathered.

What wonderful people you are! We have LOVED attending your potlucks these past two years (invited by Byron P. & Jer Kuhn). Not only was there always an AMAZING variety of delicious food, but I so appreciated the ambiance of your warm, inviting home & yard/gardens plus the smiles, hugs and interesting conversations you and Roger (Byron, Roger & Shel = INTJ!) have shared with me/us. Thank you for inviting us into your home! Your warmth and generosity helped us shy people feel welcomed. I regretfully had to miss your last horrah (Dec. 13) due to a conflicting CFI Winter Solstice Dinner (w/ your neighbor, Cindy K.) we needed to attend due to being ‘honored’ guests. =)
I certainly hope our paths may cross again. I am penciling in July 18, just in case. 😉

    Shel Lynn (& Dave)
