Delicious Samples, lively conversation
Free & Open to the Public
After losing 100 pounds, Cherie Inn owner Michael Kulyczyk wanted to share his newfound love for healthy eating with his diners. He found me after reaching out to Rebecca Bochenek at Veg Lakeshore. I have had SO much fun helping him develop a special additional menu that is at once kind, delicious & healthy. Working with Michael and the incredibly talented culinary marvel, chef Alex Schulte, has been a bit of dream come true for me and we’re very excited to show you what we’ve come up with. Michael truly values feedback so feel free to let him know what you think of the samples you taste as well as what else you are hoping for. Don’t be shy! And check your pre-conceived notions about oil-free food at the door. This is delicious!
I also appreciate how earnest Michael has been in dedicating special grill space to this menu for both ethical and health reasons.
It’s no secret that many of us have been longing for this kind of fare at more restaurants. I’m really hoping we make a big show at Michael’s menu unveiling. Our friend, Jeremy Kuhn. will be photographing the event and I would LOVE to see us all there to document to the larger restaurant community that we have money to spend and we’re excited to have more options.
Finally, another venue very near and dear to my heart has opened up in the former GR Yoga studio just a few doors down from Michael. Owners Chris and Jonathan have created a delightful indie bookstore in Books and Mortar. It’s a beautifully lit, carefully-curated collection with wonderful cards as well. Independent bookstores can only thrive if we buy our books there. Please come early and introduce yourselves and browse their collection in the beautiful space they’ve created. And buy something. The owners recommended When Breath Becomes Air which I purchased and read immediately. Love!
