Like a rapier wind

I love the fragment from this poem by Thomas Horton:

Winter has a way/ Of cluttering the psyche/ With debris held in check/ From the previous year

Then like a rapier wind/January comes/ And wielding hope/ She sweeps away all the/ Shreds of bleak lonely moments…

If you live in a cold climate, it is heartening to rouse yourself and seek out your fellow men and women, even in the dark cold night.  Clearly, our supper club goers are believers.  Whether for the food–

Or the company, we ran out of plates on the darkest, coldest supper club of the year.  It was so lovely to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones…

AND to crown our very own Veggie Prom King and Queen–Megan Dykema & Salvador Silva-Rodriguez!

Many thanks to JJ and Koby for taking the photos!  Here are the recipes I gathered.  They include:

Not your Mama’s three bean salad, Vegetarian meatloaves, Chocolate tofu mousse, butternut squash mac ‘n cheese, Collard potato and lentil stew, lentil walnut pate, white bean chili, & red hot black beans & rice
